A Leaf’s Journey Through Time
At ZIMEILANG, the story begins not with a product, but with a mountain forest, a mountain cinnamon tree and a leaf preserved by time.
This place was once called “Jiemeilang.” Local legend tells of two kind-hearted sisters who lived in the mountains and helped villagers seeking refuge during times of war. The forest was named in their memory; after the late Qing dynasty, the place-name gradually evolved into today’s “Zimeilang.”
The name carries both the geographic memory of the Lingnan mountains and the warmth of the bond between people and land.
In the 1990s, mountain cinnamon was planted here as urban landscaping stock. The original plan stopped, but the trees kept growing. Over more than two decades they rooted, branched and formed a forest, living through Qingyuan’s sunlight, rain, mountain mist and seasons and developing a botanical character unique to this land.
In 2022, people returned to Zimeilang intending to build a botanical garden, but discovered the deeper value of its cinnamon forest. From this forest, ZIMEILANG began exploring the connection between Eastern plants and modern skincare.
For ZIMEILANG, mountain cinnamon is not a packaged ingredient concept but a botanical asset preserved by the land for more than two decades. Our aim is not simply to turn a tree into a product, but to show that skincare can be grounded in land, time, culture and evidence.
Today, ZIMEILANG enters modern skincare through its Acne Care Nourishing Lotion and Cinnamon Essence Oil, offering a gentler, more refreshing and more traceable Eastern botanical approach for oily, acne-prone, congested and post-acne skin.
The brand did not choose a forest;
after waiting more than two decades, the forest was finally seen again.
